Ascetic

Due sono i soggetti metaforici di questo segmento: l’acqua, come elemento materno legato
al mistero della nascita; la profondità del mare, come elemento inconscio in cui albergano
i nostri desideri e le nostre paure. La luce è l’elemento che collega il mondo esterno, il cielo,
con il richiamo verso la trascendenza, a quello interno, il corpo, con la sua immanenza e la
capacità di adattarsi agli ambienti terrestri e marini in cui si svolge la propria parabola
esistenziale. Ecco allora che corpi adolescenziali si muovono fluttuanti verso la luce
proveniente dall’alto, e sembrano trovare un loro equilibrio nella ricerca dell’armonia della vita,
oltre il mondo dell’infanzia, con speranza e a volte con paura, come il momento di passaggio
dalla vita intrauterina alla luce, che tutti abbiamo sperimentato. Le figure vengono bloccate in
un attimo che diventa eterno, in uno spazio fra acqua e luce, creando immagini che riescono,
nella loro capacità evocatrice, a ricordarci quanto la nostra vita sia legata al mare.

There are two metaphorical subjects of this segment: the water as the maternal element
linked to the mystery of birth; the depth of the sea as the unconscious element in which our
desires and fears dwell. Light is the element that connects the external world, the sky, and
the call towards transcendence, with the body that through its immanence has the ability to
adapt to the terrestrial and marine environments in which its life takes place.
Here then is that adolescent bodies move floating towards the light coming from above, and
seem to find their balance in the search for the harmony of life, beyond the world of
childhood, with hope and sometimes with fear, as the moment of transition from intrauterine
life in the light, which we have all experienced. The figures are captured in a moment that
becomes eternal, in a space between water and light, creating images that succeed in their
evocative capacity to remind us how much our life is linked to the sea.
